2014 in Review

Happy New Year! I'm absolutely loving the new opportunities and a fresh set of goals. I'm honestly less a fan of the partying and more into creating new memories, achieving my goals and becoming a "new and improved" Jillian. I thoroughly enjoy waking up on the first with a blank slate of a year waiting to be filled with new, fun memories. Before I dive head first into a whirlwind of fun memories, I feel like a proper goodbye is in order for 2014.

All in all 2014 was pretty great. I had the opportunity to create new friendships, buildup previous relationships, and try new things. Of course, my year was filled with ups and downs and my fair share of bumps along the way. This current academic year seems to be filled with these peaks and pits due to the rigor of classes, business of my schedule, and changes that come with a new academic term. Aside from the memories I'm not so fond of in 2014 (studying for hours, becoming overwhelmed with classwork, and lack of sleep) I have been fortunate enough to have some amazing memories from 2014.

Lacrosse Season

This lacrosse season has by far been one of the best seasons yet! With this being my third new team in my three years of playing, I was a little scared of the season to come. In the end, it was all worth it! The relationships I have built up and created throughout lacrosse season were incredible! I gained friends, made best friends, and (sadly) lost friends, but it was all worth it. Being on a team with as many ups and downs as our team, we had to stick together. Now our team is growing stronger and I couldn't be more proud!

Traveling

2014 held quite a few trips.Whether it was going to visit family in Oklahoma, two hour bus rides to a game, or a trip to the beach, I went a lot of places with some of my favorite people!

Christmas Pinspiration

Christmas is, hands down, my favorite time of the year. Christmas decorations, cookies, music, movies, presents (for yourself and others) -- everything is so magical! String the garland and put up the tree; with out Christmas decorations, the holidays just wouldn't be the same! I love decorating for Christmas and sprucing (pun intended) up the house! Lights, ornaments and stockings epitomize the season! With the holiday break finally being here and finals over, I can really start to get into the Christmas spirit! My past two days of freedom have been filled with Christmas cheer; whether it be have a cookie swap or watching Home Alone. Cooking delicious Christmas cookies for Santa and treating yourself to a candy cane or two is a huge part of the typical families Christmas. I adore baking, especially during the holiday season! This break has, of course, also been a time of pinterest and Gossip Girl. With that said, here's some beautiful Christmas pinspirations I wanted to share with everyone! If you're not in the Christmas spirit after this post... then I dare call you a Grinch. Make sure to follow me on Pinterest here!

Must See Christmas Movies

I've always been the type of person who loves watching movies nonstop in their free time -- christmas movies are no exception. I can't help but get even more in the holiday spirit when watching some of the movies I hold dearest to my heart. Besides decorating the house with twinkling lights and wreaths, watching Christmas movies is probably my favorite thing. I love making time in my schedule to watch ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas (even though, I have been slacking a lot this year!). These are my personal favorites to see every year!

By the way, no clue how I forgot, but Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life should definitely be on the list as well!
